Day 2 in Lough Ree and the Sutton Dinghy Club sailors have had a mixed bag. Despite conditions being far more agreeable than Thursday, there were still plenty of thrills and spills. Our own Charles Sargent in Smurfette ended up in the drink in 2 of the 3 races at the gybe marks.
Despite having to abandon the first race, PRO still manged to get 3 races in on the day with SDC’s Alan Henry & Simon Revil taking 3 more bullets to take a clear lead in the event. Club mate Alan Carr & Ian McCormack lie in 2nd place with Charles and John Lynch waiting on the discards to kick in. Results after 4 races here.
Meanwhile down in Cork at the Cork Dinghy Fest 2015, Conor Twohig & Brian Sheehy had a good day in the Mirror Nationals with 2 wins and a 7th to lie 1pt ahead of Jack Ryan & Ben Graf from Lough Ree YC. Oscar Langan & Lugaidh Craosdell remain 10th. 2 more days of racing in Cork so still all to race for.
