Conditions
could not have been better with a fairly steady westerly breeze
F3-4 and a flat sea. The fleet was split in to two sections
- an "inshore fleet" with novice Optimists, Mirrors and Picos
( 44 boats) sailed in front of the clubhouse while the "offshore
fleet" (70 boats) sailed a little further out, south of the
Martello Tower.
This fleet was further divided into an outer Olympic type
course for GP14s (2), IDRA14s (13) and Lasers (23) and an
inner Olympic type course for Fevas (7) and Optimists (25).
On the "offshore" course, Alan Henry and crew Simon Revill
scores two firsts to take the IDRA 14 title from Gary and
Andy Sargent.
The Fevas title went to Claude Mollard and Ben Jennings followed
by Louise Flynn-Byrne and Jennifer Harris while in the Lasers,
Ian Beatty-Orr (Std), Catherine Hilliard (Radial) and Michael
Donnelly (4.7) took the honours.
The Optimist winner was Cian Buckley who pipped Alex O'Grady
on a tie-break.
On the "inshore" course, Darel and Callum Clarke won the Mirror
prize with Holly Mulcahy and Issy Clancy taking the Novice
prize. Billy Keenan had two bullets to take the Pico prize
and Gemma McDowell was best of the Optimist Novices.
