Over 35 young sailors turned out for the Clubs Annual Sponsored Sail down Sutton Creek on Saturday evening.
The local passers-by saw the flotilla in full flight down the creek towards Dinghy Supplies and back. Our own Sutton Dinghy Club sailors were joined by the Rainbow Special Needs Summer Project.
The event is organised by Mandy Kelly every year to raise funds to support junior coaching and sailing within the Club. With food, prizes and goody-bags, all had great fun on and off the water. In addition important funds were raised to support our junior coaching.
The Trophy for Annual Sponsored Sail, donated in memory of Tom Kilmurray was won by Lochlann O’Shea.
Mandy Kelly presented the trophy on behalf of Kilmurray family.
Thanks to all members and parents who supported the day.
In particular Mandy and the Club would like to thank all the local businesses for their continued support including: Casa Pasta (Howth), Country Kitchen (Howth), Dinghy Supplies, Supervalu (Sutton), Nail Nirvana (Sutton), McCartan Pharmacy (Sutton & Bayside), Cross Barber (Sutton), Munchies (Bayside) & Pout Beauty (Bayside).
