A Legacy of Community and Growth
The Sutton Dinghy Club Community Employment (CE) Project is a been a part of the North Dublin community for over 30 years, since its inception, the project has served as a vital resource for local clubs, and organisation, while providing training and employment opportunities to the residents of Sutton, Howth, Baldoyle, and surrounding areas.
The Sutton Dinghy Club CE Project was established in 1995, born out of a vision to give back to the community that hosts the club while simultaneously securing the club’s future as a year-round facility not just during the sailing season. Under the long-term management and guidance of Hugh Gill and the Board of Management, the project was designed to combat social exclusion by offering meaningful work to those facing barriers to the labour market. The vision to reach a day where there are no longer any barriers to education, training, or employment for the communities of Sutton and its surrounding areas.
CELEBRATING 30 YEARS

Over the last three decades, the project has grown into 33 diverse roles across 12 different locations including Howth, Sutton, Baldoyle, Bayside, and Malahide. A commemorative plaque was presented to Sutton Dinghy Club Ce project by the Department as an expression of gratitude and thanks from Minister Calleary, for the key role Sutton dinghy club Ce project played in the operation of the Community Employment Programme over the last 30 years. Sutton Dinghy club CE project has been a cornerstone of local development providing vital support, skills and opportunities to participants in the local community.
