As you know the Rio Olympics is not quite over for the members of Sutton Dinghy Club. Our own Austin O’Carroll and his fellow sailors John Twomey and Ian Costelloe begin the Sonar sailing event on September 12th.
A GP based in inner-city Dublin, Austin is an inspiring man and we were delighted to have Austin give his ‘Road to Rio’ talk to Club members back in April.
Our Commodore Jim Lambkin sent a short letter to Austin wishing them well on behalf of the Club and all its members. John Twomey in his 11th Paralympics will be carrying the Irish flag in the Opening Ceremony on Sep 7th.

Annalise’s result has given the profile of sailing a great lift here, so we will be watching the series closely, no pressure!
