The first event on the GP14 calendar GP14 Ulster Championships kicked off last weekend with 4 Sutton Dinghy Club crews involved. 
Still waiting for their new boat Hugh and Dan Gill travelled with a ‘loaner’ boat, while Katie Dwyer & Michelle Rowley, Peter Boyle & Joe Doherty and David & Andy Johnston also made the trip north to Newtownards Sailing Club. With a very decent fleet of 28 boats, all 6 races were sailed despite the very light and sunny conditions. The event PRO was Sutton Dinghy Club member Ruan O’Tiarnaigh and a very fine job he did in getting all 6 races completed.
The event was won by Ger Owens and Mel Morris but not before a tough battle with Ross & Jane Kearney. Best of the Sutton crews was. The full event results can be found HERE on the GP14 Ireland website.
