It is with great sadness we heard yesterday of the passing of Paul ‘PK’ Kavanagh.

PK was PRO last weekend for the Optimist Fleet at Sutton Dinghy Club All Ireland Inter-Schools Sailing event. PK was a regular PRO in Sutton the last few years, a great guy and friend to the Club. Alex, his eldest son was a Sutton Dinghy Club Instructor the past season and youngest son Max competed for Belvedere College in the Schools event.Paul 'PK' Kavanagh

Best known for assisting with Race Management, Protest and on-water Jury locally and with IODAI, PK down the years has sailed with the likes of Sutton Dinghy Club great Roy Dickson on IMP, Norbert Reillys Comache Raider as well as with Richard Burrows on ‘Prospector’. PK was very involved locally for many years in both Suttonians Rugby Football Club and Howth Yacht Club.

Our thoughts are with his sons Alex and Max and all his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
