For the 70 boats involved, the second day of the Crosbie Cup here in Sutton Dinghy Club didn’t disappoint. More glorious sunshine and with a little more breeze than Saturday meant both fleets got 3 races in without any problems for the race management teams. The extra breeze was a little too much for some of the younger regatta fleet sailors, with a few more retirals than Saturday. But with plenty of waterside fun to be had around the slipway and nearby beach the kids were happy out.The top five sailors in regatta fleet were Leonie Judge (RIYC), Tim Norwood (RIYC), Ruth Lacy (HYC), Michael Fitzgibbon (HYC) and Ellen Barbour (CAYC). Oscar Langan was top Sutton Dinghy Club boat finishing in 7th.

The main fleet saw a close battle right to the wire with the eventual winner Daniel Hopkins (HYC) leading home Tom Higgins (RStGYC), Tara Coakley (RStGYC), Alana Coakley (RStGYC) and Henry Higgins (RStGYC). Lilyann Ho was leading Sutton Dinghy Club boat finishing a very creditable 14th in her first Optimist event. Full results for both fleets are on IODAI website. http://www.iodai.com/live/results/

Many other prizes were awarded and full details will be available with photographs from the event later on the Sutton Dinghy Club website. Many thanks to all those parents and volunteers who helped make this such a great event. We would also like to acknowledge the support and help from the clubs who provided additional rescue boats and crew (Malahide Yacht Club, Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club and Howth Yacht Club). Also many thanks to our sponsors, Casa Pasta, Leydens, Nestle and Coca Cola.
