With Sutton Dinghy Club hosting the 2013 GP14 Sailing Championships of Ireland later in August, there has been plenty of activity in the GP14 fleet over the last few weeks. The clubs 2 well known GP14 sailors Hugh Gill and Stephen Boyle have been regularly joined in club racing and practice by a number of other boats and crews

Dick Dunne, Sam McConkey and Eoin Fanning have been getting plenty of practice in with their crews over the last few weeks and it is great to see a number of the younger members cutting their teeth in the GP14 class. Conor O’Neill with Billy Keenan and David Johnston with Darrgh White have been putting time on the water in preparation for the August event.

Last weekend also saw Graham Elmes arrive in Sutton with his new GP14 and start his preparation for the Nationals. It is great to see Graham in the fleet and he brings massive experience from many other classes including Mirrors, 470, Dragons and Etchells.

Graham will be known to some of our Mirror team competing in Lough Derg as he has been doing some of the Mirror winter coaching and will be on the water in Lough Derg for the start of the World Championship next week.
